A body has been found in a stream in West Auckland.
The body was found by a member of the public on Central Park Drive around 10.30am. This is the same area where missing artist Adam Tan was last seen.
Police have confirmed it is the body of a man, but were unable to confirm the person’s identity.
A postmortem will be conducted later today.
Mr. Tan has been missing for a week since “bolting” from a security guard and nurse while being admitted to Waitakere Hospital’s mental health unit.
Friends and family describe Mr. Tan as a talented and gifted artist who is well known for his art pieces on wilderness and suburbia.
The Kiwi-born Malaysian-Chinese male was last seen wearing maroon-coloured skinny jeans, blue knit cable cardigan, black Chuck Taylor shoes and brown-rimmed prescription glasses.
