It’s good news for Auckland’s 175th birthday as the Met Service forecasts the hot weather is set to continue over the weekend.
The Sky Tower will light up with pyrotechnics at around 9.30pm on Sunday night, with barges on the harbour coordinated to make what is promised to be one of the biggest firework displays seen in the City of Sails.
Queens Wharf visitors will enjoy free entry from 10am until 6pm every day. Whilst Shed 10 will host a multimedia event on Saturday, opening at Midday.
Other events to celebrate Auckland’s 175th Anniversary will include The Seafood Festival, The International Buskers Festival and The Auckland Regatta.
Mayor Len Brown says: “We want to reflect a rich history, celebrate our diverse cultures and acknowledge some of those who have made Auckland great.”
