Tourist takes out traffic light

A tourist has been issued with a police warning after crashing into a traffic light by the North Shore’s Albany Mega Centre.

Police say the accident happened after the driver tried to retrieve a mobile phone they had dropped inside the car.

No one was injured in the crash, which happened on Saturday.

Police weren’t willing to comment on the warning, but say that the driver will have to pay for the towing of the car.

The traffic light was taken away for repairs later that afternoon.
