Girls, boys and even adults from all over the world have been taking part in a challenge – the Kylie Jenner ‘lip challenge’.
Notorious for her plump lips and luscious pout, Kylie Jenner has unknowingly started a dangerous worldwide trend.
Upon inserting their lips into a shot glass, small jar or bottle, ‘competitors’ then go on to suck out the air, creating a vacuum.
This in turn creates, or should create, a collagen-like visage on the lips of the beholder – much like those of teenager Jenner’s.
Twenty-four-year-old Alice Pickford of Melbourne says she attempted the challenge in hope of gaining plumper lips, but instead got herself some very sore repercussions.
“I did it because I have wanted lip injections for ages,” says Pickford.
“My lips were bruised for a week and looked weird, it’s made me not want lip injections any more,” she says.
The online world has gone crazy in the last week, with people in NZ also trying the challenge.
Donna Jarden of Auckland says her daughter attempted had attempted it, and also had some nasty consequences.
“My silly daughter did it and it bruised her face,” says Jarden.
