Brooke Fraser is in New Zealand for her Brutal Romantic tour, with an unexpected extra – a baby which is due very soon.
The Naenae-born singer rose to fame at the age of 18 with her album What To Do With Daylight. Now she’s back, with a new sound, fierce persona and a new album Brutal Romantics.
Fraser announced in March that she was pregnant, and also that she would be coming back home to play for her fellow Kiwis in June.
This news pleased many Kiwi fans, as late last year, Fraser cancelled a planned ten-day tour due to “unavoidable scheduling conflicts”.
Fraser told Breakfast on Tuesday that she’ll be giving New Zealand “a few little special add-ons” as it’s the last stop on the tour.
The singer will perform three shows in New Zealand, starting off in Christchurch on June 24, Wellington on June 26, and the last stop in Auckland on June 27.
Fraser has also teamed up with some New Zealand designers.
The singer enlisted the help of Juliette Hogan, Zambesi, and Stolen Girlfriends Club to create three unique looks which she will wear during her concerts.
Fraser told Stuff.co.nz: “None of the wardrobe that was put together for the Brutal Romantic tour when it began back in January fits me anymore, and so it started with a genuine head scratching moment about what on earth I could wear for these shows.”
She will auction off the outfits on Trademe to raise funds for the Starship foundation after her New Zealand shows.
