Auckland police are investigating a shooting that happened in Pt Chevalier earlier this morning.

Two men aged 25 and 30, while in a stationary vehicle, were confronted and shot by two others. It is understood one man was shot in the face and the other in the leg.

Both received moderate to minor injuries and reported the matter to Police after driving themselves to Auckland Hospital.

Detective Sergeant Jacqui Corner says officers have been examining the scene, a car park behind the KFC food outlet in Pt Chevalier, where the two were fired on at 1.30am.

Corner adds: “Obviously we’d like to hear from anyone who has information that could assist our investigation which we’d like to progress as quickly as possible.”
