James Corden and Adele’s combination of singing and witty banter is guaranteed to boost anyone’s mood.
‘Carpool Karaoke’ is a smash-hit segment on the British comedian’s The Late Late Show.
The title explains it all: Corden drives around famous musicians in his SUV, while songs are belted out, stories are shared and all-around hilarity unfolds.
The 10 time Grammy-award-winner talks directly about trying to decide between wearing a wig on tour, or getting a weave.
Corden, gleefully replies: “What I like is that you’re coming to me for this advice.”
“So I have a glass of wine and then I have another glass of wine,” says Adele. “And then I spot a family – I’m a bit drunk – so I go over and I’m, ‘did you call my name earlier?”
The 27-year-old ended up buying the family a birthday dinner and finding another family’s email address in her pocket the next day – after promising them tickets to her Nashville while a tipsy state.
Corden and the Hello singer drive around London while they sung her hits, a Spice Girls classic and Monster by Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. Corden was left dumbfounded by her obvious vocal talent but also her surprising rapping skills.
In between tunes like Wannabe and Someone Like You, Adele reveals that her latest album 25 will be the final album named after her age. “I believe in trilogies,” she explained.
The popular late night host has also teamed up with global superstars like Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, One Direction, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart and A$AP Rocky.
Adele’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ has been streamed over 56 million times since airing on January 13, beating Justin Bieber’s eight-month-old appearance.
“It’s just us in the car and I think there is just something very joyful about seeing someone sing their hits in the environment we sing them in all the time,” Corden said when he was a guest on The Ellen Degeneres Show for the first time back in October.
