Adele has reportedly ‘snubbed’ the Oscars, after being offered the chance to present an award at this year’s ceremony.
The singing superstar is said to have turned down the opportunity because Hollywood’s biggest bash of the year clashes with the beginning of her world tour.
Adele’s team was apparently keen for her to attend, but she wasn’t willing to risk any chance of travel delays or distractions.
Desperate Oscar bosses even offered to lay on luxury private transport to race Adele to her first gig in Belfast 24 hours later, but the star could not be persuaded.
An insider close to the singer admitted that the ‘turnaround’ between the night of the Oscars and the opening night of her tour is ‘too tight’.
The British beauty was last at the awards show in 2013 when she accepted an Oscar for her hit song Skyfall (video below) from the James Bond film of the same name.
A source said: “Organisers are desperate to get her and will still do anything to make it happen but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will not let anything jeopardise her tour. She is aware things can go wrong which causes delays and also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice.
“She has dug in her heels on this one. There were people in her team who think the Academy Awards is too big a deal to miss but Adele is in a league of her own in terms of fame and success. Amazingly, she doesn’t really need it.

Since returning to the music industry in 2015 with the smash hit single Hello, Adele has broken what seems to be every record that could be broken.
Her track, Hello fetched the most digital downloads bought in a week and became the most-streamed song in a week in Spotify’s history. The video became the biggest YouTube debut of a video in 2015.
With all the recent success Adele’s latest album, 25 has gotten, the songstress is clearly focusing heavily on her upcoming tour slated to start on February 29.
