
The girlfriend of a New Zealand born rugby star in France has been found murdered.
India Chipchase was found strangled to death in a Northhampton home.
Miss Chipchase was the partner of Evaan Reihana, the son of former All Black Bruce Reihana, who is playing for French Top 14 side Bordeaux Beagles.
The body of Miss Chase was discovered on Sunday (Monday NZ time).
Mr Reihana took to Instagram to pay tribute to Miss Chipchase and share his emotion.
“Still can’t believe you are not with us any more ind,” he wrote.
It is reported that Miss Chipchase, the daughter of a doctor and a former private school pupil, was last seen at a Northhampton nightclub called NB on Saturday. Police smashed down the front door of a house 6km from where Miss Chipchase lived with her mother after tracing her phone to a nearby park.
The Daily Mail reported, that her body was found inside and a post-mortem examination the following day confirmed she died from neck injuries.
Fifty-one-year-old bookkeeper, Edward Tenniswood, appeared in court accused of the murder. No plea was entered and Tenniswood’s solicitor, Derek Johnson, made no application for bail. The defendant will next appear at Northampton Crown Court on February 4.
