Chance the rapper on Jimmy Fallon

Chance the Rapper unveiled a lush reworking of Blessings (Reprise) on The Tonight Show (Jimmy Fallon). He brought along each one of the track’s featured guest artists for the performance, which means that he was joined on stage by Ty Dolla $ign, Raury, Anthony Hamilton and D.R.A.M.

The Chicago MC’s four guests provided a gorgeous mix of background vocals, while Ty and Raury contributed bass and guitar.

Though it’s every bit of a hip-hop record, Coloring Book is just as much of a true gospel album. Chance gave us a visual representation of the track that saw him bring out a full-on gospel choir, complete with choir robes and enough “Praise Jesus Hallelujah!” spirit to get you up on Sunday morning.

He also sat down with Jimmy Fallon (See Below) , gifting the host his own “3” hat and explaining why he doesn’t sell his music. “There’s always new ways of releasing,” Chance said.

“There’s visual albums and full concerts and big Broadway musicals, and so many ways that music moves around now that I feel like trying to fit it into a for-sale album is kind of obsolete. It gives me more space to create.”
