Scalloped Potato is one of those Kiwi favorites and we can see why…
It’s a delightful addition to your family gatherings and potluck dinners.
Unlike some dishes, Scalloped Potato is perfect all year round, whether your catering for a BBQ or a Mid-Winter feast.
Ingredients:
- 4 medium sized Potatoes – Peeled and thinly sliced (the thinner your potatoes, the faster this will cook)
- 1 onion – Diced
- Cheese – Grated (make it as cheesy as you want)
- 1 cup of cream
- Maggi’s Sour Cream and Chives Potato Bake Flavoring mixed with your cream (for extra flavor)
- 2-3 cloves of garlic – Diced
- Salt + Pepper
- Basil (fresh or dried)
Pre-heat oven to 180°C on bake
Layer the ingredients into dish- Potato, cheese, onion, garlic, basil, salt + pepper
Layer until you run out of Potatoes
But before adding final sprinkle of cheese, pour over cream mixture
Then gently shake the dish – this ensures that the cream seeps through the whole dish
Sprinkle on final layer of cheese and seasoning
Pop in the oven for approximately 1 hour
Take out when cheese is golden brown and you can stick a fork through the potatoes easily
30 minutes + 1 hour
Serves 4-6
