Ben & Jerry’s celebrated their Free Cone Day worldwide today.
The famous American ice cream brand has two stores in Ponsonby and Takapuna, Auckland. Aucklanders were seen happily enjoying at both the stores and radio station The Edge was also a part of promoting the event.
There was a long queue of customers throughout the day but each customer got their favourite flavour of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
Every year Ben& Jerry’s celebrate #FreeConeDay as a way of thanking their customers and spreading their love, peace and ice cream among people. The idea of Free Cone Day began in America in 1979. The brand celebrated their success at their very first store in a renovated gas station in Vermont.
The event was a hit on social media, with people sharing videos on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter using the hashtag #FreeConeDay.
